Cavone Sinkhole and Chasm

DESCRIPTION

In the territory of Spinazzola, in the locality of Murgetta, there is the deep Cavone: an epigeo-hypogean karst system, a fascinating example of a funnel-shaped doline that ends in a sinkhole.

The doline is about 100 meters in diameter whose slopes fall into a 70 meters deep well, spectacular in shape and with sheer walls covered in the typical vegetation of the area.

In the landscape context it is possible to admire the Bauxite Mines and a view that goes from the Apennines to mount Vulture.
